He returned to Mat in July to get fit and started competing again in October 2010

Mat managed to be placed 5th in the Winter Regionals in Feb despite having only ridden Decanter for just over a month.

Between February and March 2010 Mat managed to competed 6 times getting placed 1st twice, 2nd three times and 3rd twice.

Decanter changed rider at the end of 2009, he spent a short time with his new rider, Mat Burnett, before going to stud in April to freeze for the USA and the EU.
